STUDIO POLICIES

General policies:

-All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times unless they are in class

-No running or climbing on furniture PLEASE!

-No gymnastics in the lobby area

-All personal belongings may be kept in the lobby, kitchen, lounge or in the studio with the dancer. Prestige Dance Studio is not responsible for items left behind. Please make sure you check for all your belongings before leaving the studio.

-Please take your dancer to the restroom BEFORE class begins to avoid accidents and disruptions to class

-Prestige Dance Studio is not responsible for lost or misplaced items

-Our office staff is available during office hours to answer any questions you might have! You can reach us at prestigeoffice6@gmail.com or 804-739-7600. You can view our current office hours here

Access Door:

We have installed an access door to our facility. All our families will be required to sign up for access at the completion of their registration. There are two methods of entry a mobile app or a swipe card. There is no purchase for either method, but if the swipe card is lost there is a $50 replacement fee. Families can keep their method of entry for as long as they are students at Prestige Dance Studio. If you dancer is not a current student of our studio any more you will need to turn in your card and your mobile app will no longer have access (swipe cards failed to be returned will result in a $50 fee). If you are new to our studio or are having trouble entering our building just ring our door bell and the office will let you in. 

communication:

All newsletters, closing announcements, payment reminders and any other perinate information is emailed. Please be sure to provide an email address that is monitored. Please add PrestigeOffice6@gmail.com to your contact list to avoid our emails getting filtered to your junk mail. 

STUDIO CLOSINGS:

Prestige Dance Studio's closings are similar, but may not follow Chesterfield County Public School Closings for all major holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break.  We are not closed for most federal holidays including Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, or Student/Teacher Holidays.

 

Prestige Dance Studio does not always close when Chesterfield County Public Schools close for inclement weather, however, we do follow most 2-hour delays, weather permitting. Please tune to NBC and ABC channels for closing information.

 

Emails will be sent to all families concerning inclement weather. Prestige does not make-up missed class(es) due to inclement weather closings.

Registration & fees:

FALL SESSION: Fall registration normally begins late July/August. The fall registration fee is $50 and half price for any additional siblings. This registration fee covers the summer registration fee for dancers who continue and take the summer session immediately following the fall session. Tuition for classes is available upon request, please call or email the office. Registration fees are required for all students.

SUMMER SESSION:  Summer registration is normally late June. The summer registration is $25 and half price for any additional siblings. Registration fees are required for all students.

tuition:

FALL SESSION: Our all inclusive pricing does include the following fee: Class tuition, costume for end of the year recital. Our pricing is by class duration time and more information is available by request. We are happy to offer 3 different payment options: Pay in full (5% discount off class tuition only), 4-installments, and 8-installments. We do sell recital tickets to our shows and more information on about ticket sales will be available close to the show date, all proceeds go to our venue rental. 

Optional purchases include: Class photos, Prestige Dance Studio gear, recital souvenirs orders, recital t-shirts, ect.

SUMMER SESSION:  Summer tuition and mini camp tuitions are due in full at registration. 

DISCOUNTS: Our discounts are determined by the amount of hours a student/family takes at the studio. Tuition discounts begin at 3 hours. More information on class tuition or discounts please contact the office. 

REFUNDS: Prestige does offer refunds for dancers who drop classes before our withdraw date of October 30th. If you drop after this date your will be responsible for your payment terms.

ACCEPTED PAYMENTS: Prestige Dance Studio accepts cash, check, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. We do not have online payments and no payment information is connected to any of our forms. Payments can be made in person, over the phone or check by mail. Please do not mail cash. 

Dance Sessions:

FALL SESSION: Our Season 10 Fall session runs September 9 - June 15. A listing of holiday closures can be found here.  This is a full year commitment, all dancers in this session do participate in an end of the year recital.

SUMMER SESSION: Our summer session is 4-weeks for classes. We also offer mini camps for various age groups. Our summer information will be available shortly.

Class Placement:

Dancers are leveled by age and skill. For a listing of our class leveling chart please check here. All dancers are observed over the first few weeks of classes to make sure they are in the proper class level. Adjustments will be made through the office if needed.  

 

Dancers interested in pointe are placed by teacher recommendation only and are required to take an accompanying ballet class. 

Dancers interested in competition levels are placed by audition only. Please contact the office for our next audition dates. 

Classroom Etiquette:

We strive to provide a safe and supportive environment here at Prestige Dance Studio. With that in mind we expect our dancers to follow certain etiquette when entering our studios.

 

We ask that dancers: 

-Show all our staff, dance assistants and other students respect before, during and after classes

-No gum, candy, food or beverages during classes. Water bottles are permitted and encouraged

-We ask that dancers with phones to not use their phones during classes keeping them on silent in their bags 

-Follow our dress codes in place, including their hair. You can view our dress codes for each class here

-Prestige Dance Studio does not tolerate bullying of any kind

Attendance:

Dancers can miss 4 classes or be tardy 3 times between September - December & miss 4 classes or be tardy 3 times between January – April. If a dancer misses or are tardy more than the allowed days, they may not be able to perform in the Recital – per teacher’s discretion.

Please contact the office to inform them of your dancers absence so we can inform the teacher. 

*PDC/PDCA and Core/Prima Dancers: follow attendance policy listed on your acceptance form.

Class Make-ups:

If a PDS dancer misses class, they can make-up on any other day their class is offered. Please stop by, call or email the office to set up a make-up class. Class make-ups may not be possible in classes that are full. 

*Prestige Dance Studio does not have students make-up classes after spring break in preparation for recital.

Recital:

Our Season 10 recital is June 14th & 15th at Manchester High School. Dress Rehearsal will be June 10-13 at Manchester High School. All students taking class(es) during our Fall session will participate in our recital. More information about tickets, show times, ect. will be available closer to our show date. Your dancer will receive a costume, included in your tuition, for recital. This is separate than their weekly class wear. 

Viewing Windows:

All 3 of our studios have viewing windows, they are open at the teachers discretion. We do ask that you refrain from taking photos and videos through our windows. Our windows are specially tinted to help with the distraction of our younger dancers seeing faces in the window. 

Private Lessons:

Private lessons may be available upon request at our teachers availability. Pricing for private lessons does vary by teacher.

How do I audition for Company?

A.

We hold company auditions every summer in June. Auditioning is required in order to be on either one of our companies. If you are interested in auditioning in the future, please notify the office and we will be sure to email you information as it becomes available. For more information on our company programs, please click on the "Company" tab in the menu.

What happens if we decide to drop?

A.

Our withdraw date is October 30th. If you drop after that date, you are expected to fulfill your payment terms.

How do I register my child for class(es)?

A.

To register your child, please complete a registration form here. Once you have submitted your registration form, someone from the office staff will contact you (please allow 1-2 business days).

What kind of payment methods do you accept?

A.

We accept cash, debit/credit, and check payments. We can accept payments over the phone, however, we can not accept online payments at this time.

Do you offer payment plans?

We offer two payment plans; a 4 month and 8 month. The 4 month installment plan breaks your payments up into 4 equal payments, which are due every other month. The 8 month installment plan breaks your payments up into 8 equal payments, which are due every month. Each installment plan includes a handling fee, which is broken up into your payments, i.e. $20 for the 4 month, $50 for the 8 month.

Do you charge late fees?

Yes, if payments are not made by the specified due date there is a $15 late fee.
